Though all three of them seemed quite similar to me, now I am quite confident about to discuss the difference between BB, CC & DD cream. This, nevertheless, depends on the brand and the formula one is using. It provides sheer to medium coverage. As I have mentioned above BB cream has been my goto cream. Therefore, they are mostly suitable for younger-looking skin.
How to use it?
Take a pea-sized amount of BB cream on your beauty sponge or makeup brush and mingle it properly on your skin. For better application, you can use your fingers too, the heat produced by your fingers will help the BB cream blend easily. Make sure you blend it seamlessly or else you will end up getting harsh lines. You can leave it just like that or you can use a bit of translucent powder over it. CC Cream
CC stands for “color corrector” or “complexion corrector” cream. It came after BB cream, this cream is mainly specialized for Asian skin girls. Because being an Indian girl I know I have got a lot of pigmentation on my face. And for that, I always needed a color corrector underneath my foundation cream.
Benefits Of CC Cream
A CC cream gives more coverage than a BB cream and partially locks all your facial blemishes, such as redness and dark patches. This cream is specially formulated for adult and aging skin that needs more coverage to even out their face. So, rather using a separate color corrector every time with your foundation, you can switch using a CC cream for both color correcting and coverage. Some of the CC Creams do offer sun shields and also lightens and brightens your skin complexion.
CC cream is light in texture. It quickly gets absorbed in the skin. All skin type girls from oily to combination skin, everyone can use it.
How to use it?
Firstly, whether you use a BB cream or a CC cream, cleanse your face properly with the preferred facewash. Then apply the CC cream in a dotted manner all over your face and use a beauty blender to blend it. CC cream is fluffier and thicker than a BB cream. So it gives a little more coverage than a BB cream.

I still remember the day when I first saw t advertisement for CC cream on television. It was Lakme CC cream, me and my sister was so excited to buy that stuff. Earlier Lakme had only a few shades in their range but now Lakme has many options for their CC cream as well. Then many Indian companies came up with the CC cream idea. High-end brands did come up with their formula and nicest ingredients of CC cream. I felt that CC cream still has to come up with little more improvising nature. More shades have to be launched soon for Indian skin girls because these creams are so high in demand.

DD stands for “daily defense” cream. This cream is lightest among all three. It gives the least coverage and its good for mature skin.

DD cream is meant for priming and protecting your skin – all at once. It affords the protecting qualities of a BB cream and the color-correcting part of a CC cream. It has SPF, and it stops moisture loss and evens out skin tone as well. DD cream has anti-aging properties and it concentrates on growing the protection of your skin. The texture of a DD cream is creamy and moisturizing, very similar to that of a BB cream. As DD cream has anti-aging properties, it helps in combating fine lines and marks of aging, which are most fit for those who have very adult skin and wants an anti-aging remedy.
How to use it?
A DD cream is more like a tinted moisturizer. You can use it as your daily moisturizer without hesitating. It won’t give you great coverage, as it gives a good shield on your skin.
My take on DD cream
Honestly speaking I am not that familiar to DD creams, because I prefer my daily moisturizer over DD cream for sure. As Indian cosmetics brands don’t have that much of DD creams, so putting a take on such a thing which I have not used that much won’t do justice to this particular section. I have used only one DD cream that is Lotus Herbals Whiteglow Matte All In One DD cream which was okay for me. It has a few good properties of anti-aging because I need it now.

Disclaimer –I have personally used all three of these creams and stated a minor difference between all three. Though three of them comes with different approach and textures, so complaining about a single cream won’t do justice to any of these. Rather I would suggest you guys head to a store a do a patch test on your skin before using it. Because you know your skin better than anyone else. Many of them use these creams as per their personal preference, some use underneath their foundation, some use it has a face primer, some use it directly on their face with sunscreen.
